The Clifton Steamboat Museum and Metalforms, LTD are pleased to present The Battle of Sabine Pass Lecture: Lessons from the Battle Field and Battle Field Tour on May 9, 2015 beginning at 9:30am. The lecture and tour will be delivered by Wayne Motts, CEO of the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, PA and will provide fascinating insights into the battle and its participants. From the local history buff to the casual visitor to SETX, you will be fascinated with the charisma and unparalleled Civil War knowledge of Wayne Motts. This event will begin at 9:30am at the Clifton Steamboat Museum (8727 Hwy 124, Beaumont, TX 77705) with transportation provided to the Battle Field and lunch provided at the Clifton Event Complex. The cost is $75.
History Buff on a Budget: We have added an additional option for the History Buff on a budget. For the low price of $5, join us at 9:30 am on May 9, 2015 at the Clifton Steamboat Museum to hear Wayne Motts, CEO of the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, PA discuss the battle of Sabine Pass and the display of Dick Dowling’s sword on loan from the National Civil War Museum. This option does not include the Battle Field Tour, travel or lunch. Dick Dowling’s sword will only be on display until May 29 at the Clifton Steamboat Museum, so don’t miss your chance to view a rare piece of SETX and Civil War history.
